In this role, you will be joining the Malmo studio to take part in the development of our own new IPs, an exciting next step in the studio’s evolution and growth.
You will contribute to building the foundation for a great QA team. This means being involved with game features from their planning through the different stages of implementation. Working as a quality analyst with us is not just about finding and reporting bugs, but collaborating closely with a multitude of different departments involved in the process to produce the best possible player experience. We expect QA team members to be proactive and an active part in establishing the testing practices and procedures for areas of the game for which they are responsible.
We are looking for someone open-minded, organized, attentive to detail, and who can prioritize and multi-task across competing demands and requests. It’s a plus if you’re a gamer and even better if you enjoy the creative process integral to creating a new game and IP.
Responsibilities Document test plans, QA tasks, and test cases for use by internal and external teams.
Help manage the day-to-day tasks of our External FQA teams and facilitate the transfer of information where and when necessary.
Review and prioritize bugs and create Jira dashboards for different project teams you will be supporting in this role.
Perform hands-on testing and gain advanced knowledge of features and areas that you will have ownership of from a QA perspective.
Follow up with thorough regression testing on bugs reported in your areas and investigate issues with complicated reproduction steps.
Assist with planning and logistics for internal and external user experience playtests.
Provide qualitative feedback, discuss, and engage with stakeholders, and ensure that we focus our efforts on verifying the game quality where it matters the most.
Be proactive in building the test pipeline and process for the features you will have QA ownership over.
Qualifications Demonstrable experience with testing, 3-5 years working with quality control/quality assurance or a similar role. Previous employment in the gaming industry is a big plus.
Proficiency in defect tracking tools and planning such as JIRA, Confluence, Testrail, and similar.
Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills, capable of summarizing complex subjects to technical and non-technical team representatives.
Ability to immediately recognize critical issues or testing deficiencies.
Familiar with common development tools such as Perforce and Visual Studio.
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Solid understanding of live game development cycles, and familiarity with game engines and dev tools.

Localization Coordinator

Sharkmob is working on an open-world, online, action-packed experience developed by an ambitious crew of industry veterans and new talent. We are now looking for a Localization Coordinator to be the link between Localization, QA, and external parties to ensure the proper internationalization of the game.

The role
As a Localization Coordinator, you will perform reviews of the game's code to prepare it for localization, look at the elements of coding that vary depending on locales/markets; set naming conventions for source code elements; inform game developers about the most common cultural issues presenting localization challenges one can expect to discover in international target markets, such as history, ethnicity, religion, and geopolitical perspectives, etc.

We believe you have excellent communication skills and a cold-headed proactiveness with close attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Anticipate, identify, analyze, fix, and/or re-assign localization bugs. Make sure developers allocate sufficient space to prevent truncations and overruns. Also, ensure no text is embedded in graphic files to reduce localization time and the challenge of fitting translated texts into existing graphic images.
- Perform localization smoke tests after each integration of localized content.
- Coordinate work between LQA testers and development teams and facilitate that builds can be delivered at the planned localization quality level and on time. This also involves communication with QA team members in charge of servers, etc., to make sure LQA testers have proper builds to test on.
- Validation and follow-up on localization-specific issues flagged internally by various team members.
- Continuous communication and close collaboration with different departments, such as Narrative, UI, Audio, etc., to solve and support solutions for localization.


Requirements
- You have several years of localization or LQA experience, ideally in the video games industry.
- You can communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, in professional and casual settings (knowledge of any other language at a medium or native level would be a plus).
- Released a live game product.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office platform.

Do you have that creative spark that allows you to create tools that save countless artists' lives (or maybe save them a few seconds every time they click that one button)? Then you might be the person we are looking for!
The roleIn this role, you will work closely with artists, designers, programmers, and many otherdisciplines on our recently announced title Exoborne! We are looking for a hands-on candidate with extensive experience working in editor for prototyping, support, and performance. Someone who can build strong connections between teams and facilitate the world we are trying to build while providing good feedback to colleagues and mentoring other technical artists.
You will play a crucial role in focusing on the craft development aspect within the team, ensuring expertise and guidance in the specific craft area of technical art. This role reports to the Development Manager, who has the people management responsibility for the team.
Your essentials Ability and willingness to mentor other technical artists
Experience in setting up processes for different kinds of code reviews
Competence in identifying and driving performance goals and optimizations for open-world development on consoles and PCs
Extensive production experience with Unreal Engine Experience with scripting or programming (Python, C++, blueprints)
Shipped at least one previous AAA title
Strong understanding of streaming systems and setups for open-world games
Strong problem-solving and prototyping abilities

Who we are
Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and has offices in Malmö, Sweden, and London, UK. The studio develops AAA-quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power its ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights.
We are currently working on one major project: Exoborne – a Sharkmob original game created in Malmö, is a tactical, open-world extraction shooter set in a United States torn apart by apocalyptic forces of nature. Our first game Bloodhunt - a battle royale set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, was released on 27 April 2022.
